Work Experience

L3Harris | Narda-MITEQ - Staff Engineer

January 1996 - Present

Responsible for design and development of automatic test software, engineering tools, thermal characterization systems, virtual control panels, and data analysis tools used on RF & microwave communications systems, sub-assemblies, components, and related analog/digital support circuitry. Support world wide test operations. Provide testability insight during new product development.

Some key achievements:

  • Automatic test, tune & calibration systems developed for multi-band satellite communications transceivers and sub-assemblies including synthesizers, mixers, filters, amplifiers, etc. (See: Frequency Converter Systems)
  • Automatic test and calibration system developed for isotropic EMF probes covering 100kHz to 60 GHz. (See: Narda Safety Test Solutions)
  • Automatic test and calibration system developed for RF safety monitor. (See: Nardalert S3)
  • Developed software for 3 axis robotic test system used on vapor deposited thermocouples.
  • Designed fuzzy logic controller for high speed targeting of power levels during UUT characterization.
  • Designed and tuned Proportional–Integral–Derivative (PID) controller for UUT temperature control during extended multi-temperature characterization operations.
  • Designed database analytics software for trend analysis of production test data.

Lucas Aerospace - Test Engineer

1991 - January 1996

  • Designed ATE system for acceptance testing of the LAMPS AN/SRQ-4 16 channel microwave communications system.
  • Wrote software for Genrad functional testing of analog and digital circuit card assemblies.

Raytheon/ESD (Sedco) - Test Engineer

1983-1991

  • Developed ATE software for phased array radar antenna systems used on the B-1B Bomber.
  • Wrote software and designed fixtures for Factron in-circuit component testing, Fluke functional testing, and DITMCO "buzz-out" testing of electronic circuit cards.
  • Designed Failure Reporting and Corrective Action System (FRACAS). Written in Clipper, dBase, and C, this system tracks electronic assemblies throughout all phases of production.
